αιθερεmin

Text by George Themistokleous

for αιθέρεmin

——

Two moveable walls are arranged along a linear axis

positioned between the walls is a figure

her hair is tied to ropes that are attached on either side of the walls

Appearing like a prey that is trapped she grins…

pulling the walls with her locks of hair

from left

to

right

twisting

contorting

repeatedly

the walls

begin to

close in

a strip of lights attached to the figure becomes triggered

entangled between two walls… flocks of hair negotiate the body’s thrust

and the walls weight

trying to adapt to external and internal forces

sexualized bodies

sexualized images of bodies

delimiting the body as form

a socius that expects a certain projection

that anticipates a behavior

the body reacts

tries to react

is trying to react

it relishes and then

rejects

hesitates

staggers
